Position Description

  • To assure safety and well-being of persons served
  • To provide companionship and friendship
  • To initiate, motivate and supervise activities with the person served and engage him/her in appropriate activities at least 80% of the time
  • To care for siblings (as needed)
  • To prepare and serve meals
  • To provide appropriate physical assistance to the person served (may include assistance to the bathroom, feeding and toileting)
  • The service provider will have the consents, with the parent/guardian/caregiver signature in his/her possession during each respite session for:
    1. emergency/medical releases for each person served,
    2. authorization to assist with/supervise medication taken by the person served and
    3. authorization to transport

  • To maintain the home in the condition found
  • To do light housekeeping duties directly related to care of the person served
  • To respect confidentiality of consumers/families/caregivers
  • To obtain and keep current CPR and First Aid Certification
  • To abide by all rules of the SEKRS, Inc., Program
  • To assure safety and well being of the person being served
